Rochester Independent College (RIC) are one of the most interesting schools in the country. Unashamedly different, their unique approach brings incredible results, providing an inclusive and rewarding environment for their students to develop. Working alongside our branding studiomates Supple Studio, we created a bold new visual style that reinforced their core story – that a RIC student can define their own direction, knowing the school will support them every step of the way.

We helped shape the new information architecture for the site, informed by existing user behaviour, stakeholder interviews and SEO best practices. We then created a vibrant design system, using the signature arrow device liberally throughout the user interface, as a decorative device and also as a signifier of key calls to action. The whole system was built on an ultra-flexible Craft CMS setup, allowing for a myriad of different layout options for their visually striking content.

We loved working with Mud on our new website. What made it work? First and foremost, they listened. We wanted a fresh, dynamic and progressive website encompassing the spirit of our new branding and showcasing student work. They absolutely brought this concept to life and understood our ambition and values. With a clever use of technology across the site, they have created an experience that is engaging, informative and simple to navigate. 

We were blown away by the level of complexity achieved along with the patience and support from the whole team in partnering with us and our branding consultancy. Mud helped us all pull together to populate the site and make everything work easily and effectively.
